New filters against pornography arrive to the United Kingdom

Claire Perry, David Cameron’s special advisor on preventing the sexuality and commercialization of childhood, spoke on June 14th about children protection in the Internet on the occasion of the Westminster’s eForum. She considers that the parental filters are not rather successful especially because parents do not use them enough, only 1/3 of the parents, who have children who are less than 10 years old set up the filter, study the Daily Mail. Claire Perry would like to set up a system of opt-out before the end of 2013. This one would consist in introducing a filtering by default and the customer could deactivate manually for a limited time. Claire Perry said that “[In the UK] we will have filters where if you do nothing, the parental filters will come pre-tickets”. This system will be imposed on the new users but also in the older with a retroactive way.

A Facebook bug entails the personal data sharing of 6 million users

A press release from Facebook indicated on Friday, June 21st, 2013 several months of breakdown of software having entailed the sharing of leaks of e-mail address and telephone numbers of about 6 million users.

The origin of this bug would concern the recording of its archives via the network « Download Your Information » by a user. It would have affected the system of friends’ recommendation and downloading your personal information would have been associated to others accounts. This action would have entailed the archiving of these data, e-mail address and the phone number, of the recommended persons.

Kaiba was born with a rare respiratory condition, affecting about 1 of 2.200 babies, which caused his airways to collapse and the loss of the ability to breathe on his own.  Despite the fact that he was intubated, he needed to be resuscitated on a daily basis. According to the mother, “quite a few doctors said he had a good chance of not leaving the hospital alive« .

La Radio Numérique Terrestre: un avenir incertain?

La RNT, ou Radio Numérique Terrestre, est le mode de diffusion des radios via le numérique. Il s’agit d’un procédé de diffusion utilisant le langage binaire. Si les radios numériques via internet (webradios) ont connu un essor certain, il en est autrement pour la radio numérique terrestre qui peine à s’imposer depuis 2007.
 
Un mode de diffusion moderne
La radiophonie en modulation de fréquence, communément appelée bande FM, a vu le jour à la fin de la seconde guerre mondiale. Aujourd’hui près de 6000 fréquences ont été attribuées et les experts estiment que la bande est proche de son seuil de saturation, lequel pourrait être très largement relevé par la RNT.
Outre l’opportunité de multiplier les stations, la radio numérique présente d’autres avantages: couverture des zones blanches, radios locales accessibles partout, qualité sonore améliorée, possibilité de mettre en pause une émission, recherche automatique des stations par nom (et non plus par fréquence), possibilité de recevoir des informations sur le programme, etc. Pour preuve de son intérêt, de nombreux pays tels que l’Australie, la Corée du Sud ou l’Allemagne ont d’ores et déjà adopté le numérique.
