What is remote working?

Remote working consists of working remotely without going to the workplace to perform tasks.

Why is remote working a great ally for recruiters?

Initially, remote working allows flexibility of employment, thus attracting talent who cannot get closer to their workplace for whichever reason (such as family reasons or housing crisis).

It also saves time and energy. Indeed, thanks to remote working, employees no longer need to spend time in transport, which is really time-saving and stress-reducing. In addition, regardless of the size of the company, remote working can save about 30% on real estate space, 19% on energy savings, and increase team productivity by 5 to 6%.

An advantage that is both economic and efficient. In addition, as it will no longer be necessary to go to work physically, the transition to full remote working in companies will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 3300 tons. Moreover, in the “Malakoff Médéric Humanis” study conducted in 2017, remote working is perceived as a productivity factor for 79% of managers and 89% of employees.

Limits of remote working

Remote work has many advantages. However, certain points must be taken into account by the employer to guarantee the interest of current and future employees. It is necessary to ensure that in the long term, remote working does not eat up all their motivation.

Indeed, working from home can mark a social break, where the individual no longer has the need to go out to see the world, and spends their life between the desk and the bed. For new recruits, full remote working could call into question their integration into the team.

Finally, remote working is an optimal choice to attract new talent, but companies must take action to ensure a certain balance, for example by offering a few remote days per week, or full remote with some days in the company’s spaces.
