The innovative festival

From Wednesday July 7 to Sunday July 11, 2021, the 3rd edition of the Festival Entendez- Voir took place without complaint or incident and enjoyed good weather throughout its duration. It was supported by the association Vue (d’) Ensemble, in partnership with the DRAC, the Region, the Departmental Council, the City of Strasbourg, the Arte channel, Plan Sonore, Ausha, the association Des Mains Pour le Dire, the Vox Cinema, the Kaijoo Hotel, Talents & Partage, AFRIQU’Elles.

Nearly 600 people (adults and children combined) visually impaired, blind and sighted people took part in the event which was held at the Cinéma Vox, the Grande Salle de l’Aubette and the Hôtel Kaijoo, located in Strasbourg . The book fair took place between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening at the Salle de l’Aubette. Many screenings and debates took place throughout this event, not to mention the first major podcast competition between the visually impaired, the blind and the sighted. 5 workshops and installations have been set up: a “Podcast” Workshop, a Workshop for 6/10 “les Mouflets Tactiles”, a 3D sound installation, a Signs café, “La Parole est dans le Noir” and a Virtual reality. Only 2 workshops and admission to the cinema were paid for. 4 concerts took place in the evening, at the Hotel Kaijoo on Wednesday (Cherry Jazz Quartet), Thursday (Yssouf Coulibaly) and Saturday (Cherry Jazz Quartet) as well as at the Grande Salle de l’Aubette on Sunday (FUNKINDUSTRY ).

A coffee/tea stand offering premium products was available at the Aubette room. The festive spirit was present throughout the duration of the festival, the highlights took place during the Yssouf Coulibaly concert at the Hotel Kaijoo and during the screening of La Haine at the Cinéma Vox. 26 volunteers participated in the event.
