  • What is the Bitcoin?

The bitcoin, literally a coin made of bits, is a decentralized digital cryptocurrency created in 2009 by an anonymous developer known under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Its symbol is BTC.

  • Decentralized because there is no dependency on one central emitter.
  • Digital because it is created and stored electronically.
  • Crypto because cryptography is used to control the creation and transfer of money.

The bitcoin is a currency while Bitcoin is the payment system used to exchange it.
The bitcoin is very similar to gold. Only 21,000,000 Bitcoins will ever be created as only X amount of gold will ever be discovered on Earth. This is different from usual currencies where central banks can print money at their discretion. (suite…)

Monoprix veut adopter le bitcoin comme moyen de paiement

Dans une interview accordée au Journal du Net publiée le 8 avril 2014, Patrick Oualid, directeur e-commerce de Monoprix, a affirmé le désir de la société d’utiliser le bitcoin comme moyen de paiement dans un futur proche.

Cette société se revendique avant-gardiste dans le domaine de la grande distribution, et souhaite conforter son « positionnement de défricheur » avec cette nouveauté.

Le Bitcoin, qu’en est-il aujourd’hui ?

 Est-ce que la monnaie virtuelle est une bulle financière — c’est une question que tout le monde se pose aujourd’hui.

Le Bitcoin suscite un grand intérêt. Aujourd’hui, sa valeur augmente chaque jour. Après que les États-Unis, le Canada, l’Allemagne et la Grande-Bretagne l’ont reconnu, son avenir parait encore plus intéressant. La valeur d’un Bitcoin a dépassé 1000 $ pour la première fois depuis son apparition. Elle n’a cessé d’augmenter après que le Sénat américain a déclaré la monnaie virtuelle comme «un moyen financier légitime». (suite…)

The Bitcoin has become an official currency in Germany

The Bitcoin, the virtual money created by hackers, has now a legal existence in Germany: a way for the German government to perceive tax on this new way of payment.

It has been now established that the Bitcoin will be considered as a “private money”, capable of “multilateral exchanges”. The profits from this new official money will thus be subject to an income tax which will be granted at a level of 25%. An exemption after one year will nevertheless occur for the personal user of this virtual money. Les Bitcoins : avenir ou inquiétude ?

Le Bitcoin est né en 2009 suite à un projet d’ordre politique. Au départ attribuée à Satoshi Nakamoto, cette création collective a été inspirée par l’envie de créer une monnaie ne dépendant d’aucune banque centrale ou encore d’institution financière. Le Bitcoin est donc une monnaie numérique qui permet des échanges en tout anonymat. Chaque utilisateur, choisit aléatoirement, « presse la monnaie » en exerçant une opération de cryptage et reçoit des Bitcoin en retour. Ce système s’est développé jusqu’à aujourd’hui où l’on peut noter qu’environ 25 Bitcoin sont créés toutes les 10 minutes et leur revente est possible sur une vingtaine de places de marché.

Durant la crise chypriote, cette monnaie a eu un élan d’intérêt du fait que cette monnaie n’est soumise à aucune réglementation et donc, le gouvernement ne peut pas du jour au lendemain confisquer ces sommes ou empêcher leur transfert. Cependant, cette valeur n’est pas sans risque et a vécu son premier crash le 10 avril dernier ou son cours est monté jusqu’à 200€ puis a été dévalué de 61% en une journée pour enfin se stabiliser à 90€.

Euros, Dollars…the powerful currencies in the world are in a trusted crisis. These situations create a lot of uncertainty among people and some of them prefer trust the virtual currency “Bitcoin”. With the years the value of this new type of money has strongly increased.

What is « Bitcoin »?
The Bitcoin (BTC) is a decentralized digital currency created in 2009 by a developer known under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. It is based on an open source solution of peer to peer internet protocol. You can directly exchange your Bitcoins from your personal computer without a financial intermediate. Indeed this currency is distributed on the nodes of the network and uses a strong security with cryptography process. Everything is done to avoid the dependence from one central emitter.
Why this phenomena?
The main advantages of the Bitcoins are the anonymity for the payment and the apolitical nature of the currency. To pay something, you must use a dedicated software using cryptography keys. The money is transferred from a Bitcoin account to another. With the loss of trust and the fluctuation on the actual values (gold, national currencies…), more and more people are using Bitcoins. Recently a Canadian have released his house for 405 000 dollars or…6 750 Bitcoins (at the rate of 1 Bitcoin for 60 Dollars). He hopes to be the first to realize a property transaction with this currency.
