The cybernitic attacks in Ukraine.

A cybernitic attack is any type of offensive manoeuver employed by individuals or organizations that targets computer information systems infrastrucures, computer networks or /and personal devices using hacking in order to steal or destroy the information located in those devices.
They are usually labelled as a cyberwarfare or cyberterrorism attacks.
Nowadays cybernetic attacks are more and more common, and their negative consequences can be major. First of all there can be political impacts like chaos into the governement but also financial losses. (suite…)

New rules for apps and games that offer in-app purchases

By the end of September, Google will stop advertising apps and games that offer in-app purchases as free. This is coming at the request of the European Commission which gave a series of guidelines developers and app stores should follow.

In order to stop unwanted in-app purchases, the Commission asked that any application or game advertised as free should not mislead the consumer about their true costs. Especially games should make it clear how payments are made and not directly ask children to make purchases. Apps should also provide an email address for consumers who have questions or any complain. (suite…)

Le PlayStation Network à nouveau victime d’une cyber-attaque

Le PlayStation Network, le service de jeu en ligne de Sony, a été victime d’une attaque de déni de service (DDoS) le mois dernier. Bien que le service soit revenu à la normale, les mauvais souvenirs d’avril 2011 refont surface dans la tête des joueurs. En effet, le PSN a déjà été victime une première fois d’une cyber-attaque, exposant les informations personnelles de millions de clients.

Sony n’a pas été le seul à subir des attaques DDoS. Au même moment, les serveurs Battle.net de Blizzard, ceux de League of Legends, le site de la BBC ainsi que le service de jeu en ligne de Microsoft ont également été pris pour cible. (suite…)
